🛍️Shops

A player-run market where you can buy and sell items to other players. The economy is diamond-based — if you need cash to get started, see Turning Diamonds into Money.

The Market District

The market district is located at /warp shops. It's a player-run commercial area with individual shop plots.

Buying a Shop Plot

Contact an Admin or eMod to buy an open plot. Plots are located in the market district and each player can own their own storefront.

Check the infographics at /shops in-game for more details on available plots and pricing.

Setting Up Your Own Shop

Shops can be made from Chests, Barrels, and Shulker Boxes.

Tip: We recommend using Barrels or Shulker Boxes instead of Chests, as chests cause extra lag on the server.

How to Create a Shop Sign

  1. Place the item you want to buy or sell inside the container (chest, barrel, or shulker box).

  2. Sneak and place a sign on the container.

  3. Fill in the sign rows as follows:

Row

What to Write

Example

1st row

Leave empty

(blank)

2nd row

Amount you're buying/selling

64

3rd row

B(uy) price and/or S(ell) price

B 64 : S 250

4th row

Use ? to autoselect the item

?

Breaking down the 3rd row:

  • B = the price customers pay to buy from your shop

  • S = the price customers receive when they sell to your shop

  • You can have just a buy price (B 64), just a sell price (S 250), or both (B 64 : S 250)

  • If you include both, separate them with a colon :

Note: Prices are in the server's cash currency. To understand how cash relates to diamonds, see Turning Diamonds into Money.

Example Shop Sign

A sign reading:

(blank)
1
B 250 : S 100
Diamond

This means: customers can buy 1 diamond for $250, or sell 1 diamond for $100.

Note: You do not need to lock a container that has been made into a shop. The shop plugin protects it automatically.

Pricing Your Shop

Pricing is up to you, but keep the economy in mind:

  • The server shop sets the diamond baseline at $100/diamond — price relative to that

  • Check competing shops at /warp shops before setting prices

  • Rare or hard-to-get items can be priced higher

  • Commodity items (cobblestone, wood, food) should be priced competitively or they won't sell

Tips

  • Keep your shop stocked. Empty shops lose customers and get a bad reputation.

  • Barrels > Chests. Barrels cause less server lag and don't need an air block above them.

  • Diversify. Selling multiple item types attracts more foot traffic to your plot.

  • Advertise in chat. Let people know what you're selling — especially if you stock rare items.

  • Check your shop regularly. If you're running a buy shop (buying items from players), make sure you have enough cash to cover purchases.
