💲Converting Diamonds to Money
Turning Diamonds into Money
Diamonds are the foundation of SoftSlayer's economy. The server shop converts diamonds to cash at a fixed rate, giving every diamond a guaranteed value.
Using the Server Shop
Type
/shopto open the server shopFind the Diamond listing
Click to sell your diamonds
The server shop buys and sells diamonds at a fixed rate of $100 per diamond (verify this rate in-game as it may be adjusted by staff).
This rate is the anchor for the entire economy — all player shop prices are ultimately relative to what a diamond is worth in cash.
The Diamond Exchange Rate
Action | Rate |
|---|---|
Sell 1 diamond to server | $100 |
Buy 1 diamond from server | $100 |
The buy and sell rates are equal, meaning there's no spread — you can freely convert between diamonds and cash without losing value.
Quick Math
Diamonds | Cash Value |
|---|---|
1 | $100 |
10 | $1,000 |
32 | $3,200 |
64 (1 stack) | $6,400 |
640 (10 stacks) | $64,000 |
Tips for Efficient Diamond Mining
Y-level 11 (pre-1.18 worlds) or Y-level -59 (1.18+ terrain) are the most efficient mining levels for diamonds
Use a Fortune III pickaxe to maximize diamond drops per ore block — a single ore can drop up to 4 diamonds with Fortune III
Branch mining (digging long tunnels with 2-block gaps) covers the most ground with the least effort
If you have access to the Nether, every 1 block in the Nether equals 8 blocks in the Overworld — use this to travel to unexplored chunks faster
Other Ways to Earn Cash
Diamonds aren't the only way to make money. For a full breakdown of all income methods including voting rewards and player shops, see the Economy page.
If you want to sell items to other players instead of the server, see Shops for how to set up your own storefront in the market district.
