⚔️Clans
Clans
Clans are SoftSlayer's group system, powered by the SimpleClans plugin. They're a way for players to organize into teams, share resources, and build a shared identity — without any land claim or gameplay-altering mechanics. Clans are purely social and organizational.
Joining a Clan
You can't join a clan on your own — a Clan Leader has to invite you.
Check the #clans thread on the SoftSlayer Discord for clans that are accepting applications
Or ask in-game chat if any clans are recruiting
Once a Clan Leader invites you, you'll receive an invite you can accept in-game
Keep in mind: Most players won't invite someone they don't know or trust yet. If you're new to the server, spend some time playing, building, and talking to people before expecting a clan invite.
Creating Your Own Clan
Starting a clan has requirements:
Costs money — you'll need enough in-game cash to pay the creation fee (check in-game for current pricing, or see the Economy page for how to earn money)
Minimum 3 members — your clan must have at least 3 members to become verified and unlock all clan features
Unverified clans have limited functionality until they reach the member threshold
To create a clan, use the /clan command in-game to open the clan interface.
Using the Clan System
The entire clan system is managed through one command:
/clan
This opens the clan user interface where you can manage everything — inviting members, promoting officers, viewing clan info, and more.
Common Clan Commands
Command | What It Does |
|---|---|
Opens the clan management interface
Shows all available clan commands
Creates a new clan with a tag and name
Invites a player to your clan
Accepts a pending clan invitation
Denies a pending clan invitation
Leaves your current clan
Shows all members of your clan
Shows your clan's statistics
Sets a clan as your rival
Sends an alliance request to a clan
Note: Some commands may only be available to Clan Leaders and officers. Use
/clan helpin-game for the full list with permissions.
Clan Features
Once your clan is verified (3+ members), you unlock full clan features:
Clan tag — a short tag that displays next to your name in chat
Clan chat — a private chat channel for clan members only
Alliances and rivalries — set diplomatic relationships with other clans
Clan roster — see all members, their roles, and activity
Shared chest access — add your clan's NAME (not tag) in brackets on a lock sign to give your entire clan access to a container. See the example below.
Giving Your Clan Access to Containers
When locking a chest, door, or other container with a sign, you can grant access to your entire clan by writing the clan name (not the tag) in brackets:
[Private]
YourUsername
[YourClanName]
This gives every member of that clan access to the container. Make sure you use the full clan name, not the short tag.
What Clans Don't Do
SoftSlayer's clan plugin is intentionally lightweight:
No land claim — clans don't protect territory. Your builds are protected by server rules, not by clan membership.
No gameplay advantages — being in a clan doesn't give you any combat buffs, extra perks, or mechanical benefits.
No forced PvP — clan rivalries are social, not mechanical. You still need
/pvptoggled on for any PvP interaction.
Clans exist for community, not competition. They're a way to organize a group of friends, share builds and resources, and have a shared identity on the server.
Tips
Pick a good tag. Your clan tag shows up in chat next to every member's name — keep it short, recognizable, and appropriate.
Recruit people you trust. Clan members with container access can access your shared storage.
Be active. Dead clans with no active members lose their appeal. If you're a leader, check in regularly.
Use clan chat. Coordinate builds, share plans, or just chat without clogging up the main server chat.
